The Sonata for violin and continuo in G Major RV 25 by Antonio Lucio Vivaldi is not just a work that demonstrates the originality and quality of the compositional art of Il Prete Rosso. It is also a valuable exponent of the bond that formed between the Venetian and the young Pisendel. The dedication to Pisendel at the start of the autograph is written by Vivaldi himself, “Suonata à Solo fatto p[er] Ma[estro]: Pisendel Del Vivaldi” (Sonata written for Master Pisendel by Vivaldi). But not only that. Vivaldi left a space for Pisendel to add a slow movement. The manuscript is practically all written in the hand of Vivaldi, except for the Grave, composed and written by Pisendel.
